Padel.Scot processes limited personal information under the lawful basis of legitimate interests in order to provide an accessible directory and information service for the Scottish padel community. Our legitimate interest is to:

  • Promote and support the development of padel in Scotland
  • Provide accurate information about coaches, venues, and activities
  • Enable users to connect with relevant padel services
  • Improve the visibility of padel providers and opportunities

The personal information processed may include publicly available professional contact details (such as names, business contact information, and coaching or venue details). This processing is necessary to ensure the directory is accurate, functional, and useful to users seeking padel services.

We carefully balance our interests against the rights and freedoms of individuals by:

  • Limiting data collection to what is relevant and necessary
  • Primarily using publicly available or voluntarily provided professional information
  • Not collecting excessive or sensitive personal data
  • Providing clear contact routes for corrections, updates, or removal requests
  • Ensuring appropriate data security measures are in place

The benefit of this processing is a transparent, centralised information resource that supports participation in sport, strengthens the Scottish padel community, and promotes local businesses and coaches. We believe these benefits outweigh any minimal privacy impact, as the information relates to professional roles within a sporting context and is handled responsibly and proportionately.

We do not override individuals' rights and will always respect requests to update, restrict, or remove personal information where appropriate.

For more information on our use of legitimate interests as a lawful basis you can contact us using the contact details set out above.
